Now that David and I have lived in Memphis for well over two years, it finally occurred to me to start a very simple blog so that our parents on opposite ends of the country can see what is going on in our daily lives. We'll see how it goes. Perhaps the blog will force me to take more pictures. Hum . . . maybe not. I'll try. Also, I'm not near the writer that my brother is so don't get your hopes up!
This past weekend I ran a nightmare of a 10K benefiting the local Alzheimer's Service Group in heat that I can only imagine must be what Hell is like. I wanted to cry, but it's over and I'll give it another shot in a couple of weeks. David and I are running next week in a local 5K that raises funds for the Gibson Guitar Factory. David was off yesterday so it was a wonderful day in our house. We started the day with church and even visited a Sunday School Class. That was followed by an afternoon of Putt-putt. (Can you tell we were really trying to avoid doing any work on the house?) It finally cooled down by Sunday evening for us to actually eat dinner outside comfortably, which is one of my favorite things to do. Well, it is 9:53 and I have yet to do any work today. Meanwhile, David was up and out the door early to the airport and is probably already working in St. Louis. Time to get to work!
I love the idea of this blog! Let me know if you need any photos! I need to send you the one's of our visit to Memphis this past April. Sorry your run last weekend was a trial. Remember, what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. I did my long walk on Friday this past week. I'm always looking for the right day, but I guess it doesn't matter.
ReplyDeleteLove, Jeannie

ReplyDeleteA blog! Nice start. They're a great way to keep in touch, though I don't spend as much time in front of a computer screen as I once did. You are amazing with all of your running...can't even run a mile! =) Now, walking..that's a different story.
