My pledge to St. Jude

Some of you know I signed up to run as a HERO (fundraiser) in the St. Jude Half Marathon.  I figured taking a HERO position would be a way to honor how blessed we are to have a healthy baby toddler and it might encourage my training.  As the weeks have gone by, several circumstances have changed and made the run seem like a really bad idea.  At first I thought I just needed to push through and was being afraid of the "logistical" nightmare this was going to be for us, but nope, the run will truly just put too many irons in the Patterson fire.

While I am not running, I've still pledged to raise money for St. Jude, and I would be thrilled if you could help me.  If you're interested in reading more about my experiences on the St. Jude campus or in donating to help me meet my pledge goal, click HERE!

Old Friends Are Always the Best!

If someone had told me in early elementary school that the boys I was growing up with would marry women who would become life-long friends to me, I never would have believed them.   We went to the mountains for the weekend to relax and reconnect.  For me, this was the first time I'd really been able to spend time with these girls since moving back.  I really almost didn't go because (surprise) I was tired and overwhelmed by the stress of getting me ready and DM out the door to Mimi's.  David came to the rescue and organized the entire house on Thursday to make sure I made the trip.  And I was beyond blessed to have been back with these encouraging friends.  In so many ways, each of us is a unique individual, but we share a rich past and hopefully, an even richer future.

Oh, Happy Day!

It's not every day that we get to spend the day with the Bell / Entrekin clan!  Amy and I have lived in different states for years now so it is pretty exciting when the Bells roll in to town (Shhh!  When you live out of town, you try to keep it quiet when you roll in, but I had to share a picture of the four of us!)  Without Amy helping me through parenthood, DM might have died by now!  And have I mentioned her family is FULL of PERSONALITY!  I was so excited for DM to get to spend time around this lively crew!  She loved it and so did I!
